Ferrero Recalls Kinder Chocolates in the US

Ferrero has voluntarily recalled kinder chocolates product due to salmonella contamination. The company has recalled mainly the products sold in America. Ferrero said on thursday recalled Kinder Happy Moments Chocolate Assortment and Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats basket that were mainly manufactured in the factory where salmonella was found.

The companies voluntary recall comes after Ferrero recalled its surprise chocolate eggs from the United Kingdom stores this week. The company said that the product is affected chocolate was manufactured in the factories of belgium and the voluntarily recall may be extended to other countries as well.

The statement released by the company said that no consumer have reported any illness in the United States. Ferrero is voluntarily recalling the product as precautionary caution mainly because the salmonella was identified in the facility. European CDC has started looking into many reports and suspected case of salmonella that is connected with eating chocolate in nine countries.  The salmonella discovered in the manufacturing houses can cause a lot of infections in children and elderly people who have compromised immune system.

The confirmed cases of salmonella connected to eating chocolates are also found in places like Britain, Ireland, France, Germany and others. Standard Food Agency in Britain has found nearly sixty three cases of salmonella. Nearly, 21 cases have been reported in France and 15 cases reported after consuming the kinder product. A new statement also added that none of the products were put on the shelves of the retail stores that were tested positive for salmonella and they have not received any complaints.
